FUNDING ANALYST

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

MAXEX, LLC has an open position for a Funding Analyst which would report to the Director of Transaction Management with a dotted line to the Director of Finance & Controller. We are looking for an individual that enjoys a fast paced, fun and collaborative work environment. The position will serve as an internal support role between the transaction management and accounting teams, in addition to helping prepare and execute the daily loan settlement process.  The right candidate will be well organized, have strong communication skills and be able to multitask on multiple settlements daily. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in the mortgage industry and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with multiple Transaction Managers to ensure each settlement is following buyer specific timelines and processes.

  • Prior to a settlement date, perform wire verification calls for any seller/warehouse accounts not previously verified.

  • Review funding memos in Excel for accuracy prior to each settlement.

  • Ensure all settlement documents are collected and properly executed before handing off a completed settlement package to the Accounting team for funding.

  • Track and assist in post-closing corrections to ensure any additional funds are sent or received from counterparties.

  • Responsible for updating a daily schedule of future funding's by buyer based on loan statuses pulled from the Loan Exchange system.

  • Maintain settlement calendar shared between the Transaction Management and Accounting teams.

  • Other transaction related management and accounting duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • College Degree preferred, or prior work experience equivalent

  • Previous mortgage related experience desired

  • Attention to detail is a must

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a team player mindset

  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision (self-motivated)

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment

  • Ability to reconcile priorities and meet deadlines – exceptional organizational skills

  • Adaptable to change

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills a must
