Thomas M. Pearce Jr.

CEO & Chairman

Mr. Pearce is a co-founder of MAXEX and he brings 28 years of strategic advisory expertise within the community banking and insurance arenas as well as expertise within the mortgage finance, credit and asset management arenas. Mr. Pearce served on the Board of Directors of Five Oaks Investment Corp (NYSE: OAKS) a mortgage REIT sponsored by XL Group Plc from 2013 to 2015 and was Chairman of the Compensation Committee. From 2002 to 2011, Mr. Pearce was founder and Managing Partner of Vertical Capital, LLC which was sponsored by Bank of America to specialize in the management of non-agency RMBS as well as bank loans. At its peak, Vertical managed more than $14 billion in assets. Prior to founding Vertical Capital, from 1998 to 2002, Mr. Pearce was a founder and CEO of Peachtree Financial, LLC which was a middle-market commercial lending firm and rated servicer sponsored by First Union Bank and A.J. Gallagher. From 1986 to 1998, Mr. Pearce served as a Managing Director and senior member of the Mortgage Department at Bear Stearns where he focused on risk management solutions and portfolio optimization for community banks and insurance companies as well as expertise within the mortgage credit markets. Mr. Pearce received a BA from Washington and Lee University.

William M. Decker, CFA


Mr. Decker serves as President of MAXEX and brings over 30 years of community banking, capital markets, information technology, fixed income, portfolio management, and mortgage banking experience to the Company. Prior to joining MAXEX, Mr. Decker was the founder and CEO of Lydian Data Services, a residential mortgage conduit with over 700 correspondents electronically linked to 8 out of the top 10 Wall Street dealers generating nearly $40 billion per annum in loan volume (1999-2010). Mr. Decker also founded and served as President of Lydian Trust Company, the bank holding company of Lydian. Together with its subsidiaries (Lydian Wealth Management, Lydian Data Services, and Lydian Private Bank), the company did over $130 million in revenue. Prior to Lydian, Mr. Decker served as the President of two community banks: VirtualBank and Enterprise National Bank, where he also served as Chairman and CEO. Prior to that, he spent his career in banking, portfolio management and trading with senior positions at First Atlanta/Wachovia, Southeast Bank, Barnett Bank, and Bank South. Mr. Decker received a BS in Finance from the University of Denver.

Erik L. Anderson

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Anderson serves as COO with responsibility for running the day-to-day business operations of MAXEX. Prior to MAXEX, Erik was the President & CEO of Sourcepoint (f/k/a: ISGN Solutions), a productized mortgage solutions and fulfillment company which served 13 of the mortgage industry’s top 20 originators and servicers. During his tenure, he led a complete overhaul of the business, including scaling the company from 800 employees to over 3,500 employees across 8 offices and 3 countries and becoming the best returning investment parent company Firstsource had made in its 20-year history. Earlier in his career he held other senior roles at ISGN including President of Sales, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel.  Erik started his career as an attorney with the New York-based law firm Skadden, Arps where his practice focused on M&A and corporate finance.  He graduated with honors from the Villanova University School of Law where he served as an editor of the Villanova Law Review and he holds an undergraduate degree in public accounting.

Stephen C. Wilhoit

Managing Partner

Mr. Wilhoit has more than 25 years of professional experience in operations, legal, accounting and administration. From 2009 to 2012, Mr. Wilhoit was a Managing Director of Torchlight Investors, a $4 billion institutional manager of commercial real estate debt. In 1999, Mr. Wilhoit co-founded Lydian Trust Company and, from 2004 until its sale in 2009, was President of Lydian Data Services, a business process outsourcing company providing loan fulfillment services to leading Wall Street firms including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, he was with Ocwen Financial Corporation (NYSE: OCN) from 1990 to 1997, where he was Senior Vice President with responsibility for the Law and Default Servicing groups. Mr. Wilhoit received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a JD from Wake Forest University School of Law.

Christopher T. Boldman

Managing Director

Mr. Boldman has 20 years of financial services experience in management roles over legal, operations, audit and underwriting functions. Mr. Boldman most recently served as Chief Legal Officer of CMCO Mortgage, LLC, a nationwide 1-4 family mortgage lender, where he was responsible for all legal matters affecting the company, as well as managing underwriting, closing and funding operations. From 2001 to 2011, he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Lydian Trust Company, where he was in charge of all legal and regulatory matters affecting Lydian and its subsidiaries Lydian Data Services and Lydian Private Bank. From 1993 to 2001, Mr. Boldman was Senior Vice President at diversified financial services companies Ocwen Financial Corporation and its subsidiary Ocwen Federal Bank. He specialized in distressed asset acquisitions, mortgage originations and regulatory matters. Mr. Boldman received a BA in History from the University of Maryland and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.

Clayton Greenfield

Managing Director

Mr. Greenfield has 20 years of financial services experience with a diverse background including senior positions in credit risk management, due diligence, underwriting, sales, secondary marketing, and operations for top tier financial institutions and investment banks. Mr. Greenfield most recently served as President and COO of Aklero Risk Analytics (now LoanLogics), an award winning financial services and technology firm. He also served as CEO of Hall Underwriting and Consulting, a leading financial services provider. From 2001 to 2009, Mr. Greenfield was Executive Vice President at Lydian Data Services, a residential mortgage conduit, where he developed business processes and systems and managed operations consisting of more than 600 employees. Mr. Greenfield received a BS in Business Management from State University of New York College at Oswego.

Greg Richardson

Managing Director

Mr. Richardson has 30 years of professional experience in capital markets including trading, banking asset and portfolio management, mortgage banking secondary marketing and accounting. Most recently Mr. Richardson was the Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor of Capital Markets for Movement Mortgage responsible for executing Movement Mortgage's secondary market activities that included overall asset liquidity and oversaw hedging, risk management, pricing and securitization of $12 billion in annual originations. Mr. Richardson was also a founding member and partner of Altamira Mortgage Partners, LLC.  Prior to that Mr. Richardson held senior level positions that included Director of Whole Loan Trading at Wells Fargo Securities, Senior Vice President, Bank Portfolio/Asset Manager for Wachovia  Corporation and Senior Vice President of Secondary Marketing for Wachovia Mortgage Corporation and was a Managing Director at Opus Capital Markets and MDMC. Greg holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Joseph M. Matteo

Managing Director

Mr. Matteo has over 21 years of experience in equity and fixed income financial services. He has extensive experience in residential mortgage sales, trading, modeling, marketing, pricing, contract negotiation, and relationship management. Prior to joining MAXEX, Mr. Matteo worked in the mortgage finance areas of WinWater Home Mortgage LLC as SVP Director of National Sales, TMS, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Correspondent Sales, GMAC/Ally Bank as a Regional Sales Director, Bear Stearns & Co, as a Managing Director Principal Mortgage Finance, Lehman Brothers as a National Regional Manager, and Stifel Nicholas & Company as a Vice President in the Financial Services Group. Mr. Matteo holds a BS in Biochemistry with Honors from Case Institute of Technology with a minor in Economics. Mr. Matteo also holds a Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.

Charles W. Wickliffe

Managing Director

Mr. Wickliffe has more than 15 years of professional sales and marketing experience within the institutional fixed income arena with a strong emphasis on mortgages as well as more than 5 years of prior experience as an attorney. Most recently, Mr. Wickliffe was a Managing Director in Securitized Products Sales and the Head of the Atlanta Office at Nomura Securities. During his tenure at Nomura from 2009 through 2014, Mr. Wickliffe opened and ran the Atlanta office, covering regional and national accounts across a wide variety of fixed income products. Prior to that, Mr. Wickliffe was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank, where he held a number of different sales roles from 2002 until 2009, including serving as the Head of U.S. Regional MBS Sales responsible for managing regional sales offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Wickliffe was an Associate in Fixed Income Sales at Salomon Smith Barney, based in New York and then Atlanta. Prior to joining Salomon, Mr. Wickliffe had been a Senior Associate on the Products Liability Litigation Team at King & Spalding in Atlanta. Mr. Wickliffe received a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Chris Nager

Director - Transaction Management

Chris Nager currently serves as Director of Transaction Management.   Mr. Nager has 17 years of mortgage due diligence operations and secondary market experience. Prior to Joining MAXEX,  Mr. Nager served as director of operations at Opus CMC  overseeing the  management of client engagements encompassing a variety of services; securitization reviews,  non-performing/re-performing asset risk assessment, servicing reviews, quality assurance reviews,  forensic underwriting and litigation engagements.  Previously Mr. Nager spent  over 7 years as Director of Operations at Lydian Data Services, a residential mortgage conduit where he contributed in the build out and management of Deutsche Bank Correspondent Lending Group’s fulfillment center.  Mr. Nager received a B.A. from Florida A&M University where he graduated with honors, and a M.A. in Economics  from the University of Florida.
