STAFF ACCOUNTANT

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

MAXEX LLC has an open position for a Staff Accountant to be a key member of our finance and accounting team. We are looking for an individual that enjoys a fast paced, fun, and collaborative work environment. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports, maintain reconciliation schedules monthly and produce various financial reports used by management. The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third party audits of MAXEX and its subsidiaries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily reconciliations of bank settlements and GL cash accounts

  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts

  • Prepare accounting related entries to various entities, registers, journals, and logs

  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with the company policies and procedures

  • Process AMEX expense reports and receipts monthly

  • Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and work closely with various team members to ensure that revenues and receivables in the GL system reconcile at any given time

  • Assist with month end close

  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions, verifying information

  • Provide telephone and email support for both vendors and clients

  • Setup outgoing wires for daily loan settlements

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

  • Follow the company’s established accounting processes

  • Prepare documentation for external auditors

  • Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – OR – 3+ years’ experience in accounting or related field

  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data

  • Proficient in use of Excel spreadsheets

  • Must have good verbal and writing skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports

  • Ability to reconcile priorities and meet deadlines

  • Adaptable to change
